- Tania Singer is Professor at the Humboldt University of Berlin and heads the Social Neuroscience Lab of the Max Planck Society in Berlin, Germany. After completion of her psychology studies at the Technical University in Berlin in 1996, Tania Singer received her PhD in Psychology at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin in 2000. Thereafter, she became a Post-doctoral Fellow at the same institution, at the Wellcome Department of Imaging Neuroscience, and at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience in London, UK. In 2006, she went to the University of Zurich as Assistant Professor and became later the Inaugural Chair of Social Neuroscience and Neuroeconomics and Co-Director of the Laboratory for Social and Neural Systems Research. From 2010 to 2018 she was Director of the Department of Social Neuroscience at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig.
