- Carlo Ventura is MD, PhD, Cardiologist and Full Professor of Molecular Biology at the School of Medicine of the University of Bologna, Italy. He is the Director of ELDOR Lab and of the National Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Stem Cell Engineering of the Istituto Nazionale Biostrutture e Biosistemi (INBB) (www.inbb.it/en/). He is member of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, and Editor-in-Chief of the World Journal of Stem Cells. His studies aim at exploring Cell Biology in the light of Physics, using magnetic fields, nanomechanical vibration, and light to develop a Regenerative Medicine relying upon the diffusive features of these physical energies, to afford efficient reprogramming in situ of tissue resident stem cells. This strategy is paving the way to a Regenerative/Precision Medicine executed without the needs for cell or tissue transplantation, and based upon the enhancement of our self-healing potential. He is also the Founder and President of VID art|science, (www.vidartscience.org), an international movement promoting a consciousness shift to recognize the inherent unity of Arts and Sciences, exploring the avant-garde of scientific innovation to unravel how human Arts may speak to the innermost dynamics of our biology.
