Kāśmirian non-dual (advaita) yoga knows reality through joy (āsvāda), rather than by effort. The mind dissolves into the fluent gentleness of a ‘spontaneous detachment’ (anādaraviraktyā): a ‘carefree awareness’ that is spacious and timeless, albeit vividly present here and now. Through some gentle movements of the body we can sense the natural, coherent vastness of the mind-body flux, where the mind simply dwells at ease in this peaceful aliveness.
