We will try to to follow the concept of Cosmotheism as presented by the jewish philosopher Baruch Spinoza (1632-1677), who was born and lived in the Netherlands. Spinoza thought the cosmos as a gradually realisation of the Divine Unity as he called this “deus sive natura”. He got condemned and banned by the Great Synagoge of Amsterdam and hated by the christian church for being “a dangerous atheist”. His philosophy was far ahead of his time and became famous as “Spinozism” until modern times as we will see in the ideas of the great french philosopher André Comte- Sponville * 1952.

In the first session we will deal with Baruch Spinoza, in the second with André Comte-Sponville.
