Cortona 2022 opens with the logos Rinascita, and this term is very proper after two long years of Covid winter. It appears now, in fact, that the Covid is slowly but irreversibly regressing.
However, the expectation of a period of peace and breathing out is now covered by shivers of fear, due to the bloody, irresponsible war in Ukraine. At the same time, the world is threatened by the old problems of pollution, climate changes, poverty and migration.
Time to despair? No.
The awareness of the world as it is, as practiced in the Cortona-week, has to be attended by the awareness that a better humanness is possible and reachable in the near future. We work for it. The program of this week, by using science and new chords, touches upon the old problems of pandemic, climate change, political inequalities, spirituality: a vast repertoire of voices, based on our old icon according to which the Cortona week is based on “science and the other aspects of life”.
It is a week where the hundred or so participants will be all teachers and all students to each other- a unique human relation -a great richness- which will help us in the understanding of this world and in the programming of a better one.
